Concrete has been around for a long time at least a couple of thousand years. But masonry home sapiens have been building with masonry since we came out of the caves. And masonry is truly an art form many of the worlds most beautiful buildings are made of brick. So it is with some sadness that we announce the demise of Masonry Construction. Although we stopped printing MC several years ago, the newsletter and website continued and drew a decent audience but with recent changes in the structure of the staff, it became impossible to give the attention it needs to remain relevant.
This is particularly painful for me since my first job at Hanley Wood was as editor of MC in 1998. I remember well the day Ward Malisch called to ask if I would consider taking on Masonry Construction. My first editorial had something to do with Zen Buddhism and the inevitability of change well, here it is again changing.
