Indianola School District in partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa is operating a food pantry at Emerson Elementary and Indianola High School to help alleviate hunger in Warren County.  Students need good nutrition to grow, develop and learn properly. Adolescents and teens need extra food to power their rapid growth. Our School Pantry Program provides a convenient supply of food in a location that’s comfortable and convenient for kids in need and their families. Students are served snacks at school as needed and the pantry is open one time per month or by appointment.

The Food Bank of Iowa will provide the food at each of the locations and the schools will host the pantry. Food items available include frozen selections, dry food items, canned food, bottled water and various snack type options for families. School administration and select teachers are supporting the effort by volunteering to have the pantry open and accessible to families on the following days:

Emerson Food Pantry

  • 2nd Tuesday of the month from 4pm-6pm or by appointment

  • 1st Tuesday of the month from 3:30pm-5:00pm or by appointment
