Champions for Children
Champions for Children is an award winning, licensed after school program designed by Port Clinton City Schools for our district's families. The self supported program provides a home like, instructional atmosphere where each child's interests and needs are the primary focus. Children enrolled in Champions for Children may choose from a wide range of activities including sports, arts & crafts, games, puzzles, educational materials, computers, and movies. A special time is set aside for homework, reading, or quiet academic activities. Scheduled enrichment programs taught by community members are available. Some examples include Spanish lessons, hands on science, jujitsu, yoga, and sign language. In addition to child oriented classrooms, Champions for Children utilizes the gymnasium, playgrounds and sports fields. Students at Champions for Children participate in a wide variety of enrichment activities. These activities and classes are selected and scheduled in response to student interest and request.
