Ellinwood

Located on the Forest Ridge campus in rural northwest Iowa, the Ellinwood house is a 12 bed residential treatment unit.

Named after Salt Lake City Utah native Florence Ellinwood Allen, this unit primarily serves youth placed out of Utah.  The first woman to serve as a Chief Judge of a United States Court of Appeals, Florence Ellinwood Allen devoted her life to the causes of fostering world peace, improving women's rights, and mentoring young women who were interested in entering the legal profession.

The young women residing at Ellinwood house receive the core programming components and services that Forest Ridge offers to all youth placed in Residential Treatment programs.  However, Ellinwood provides a higher (1 to 6) staff to student ratio, participates in specialized daily scheduling, community service, and specialized group facilitation unique to their needs.
