Ethical Will

An Ethical Will is an expression of one’s memories, beliefs, values, faith, love, forgiveness, hopes, life’s lessons etc.  Unlike a traditional will, which tells your family and friends what you want them to have, an Ethical Will tells them what you want them to know and remember.  Trained Ethical Will Facilitators interview patients and help them write their Ethical Will letter. Energy Work

Working with the body’s energy systems is a tradition that is centuries old. Stein Hospice focuses on Reiki and Healing Touch when practicing energy work.

Reiki is a Japanese technique that aides in stress reduction, relaxation and promotes healing. It has been used by people of all beliefs throughout history.

Healing Touch was developed by a nurse named Janet Mentgen. She devised specific hand techniques to influence ones’ energy systems and repair blocks, which may be underlying reasons for pain/stress.

Both Reiki and Healing Touch have been reported to:

  • Reduce pain
  • Reduce anxiety and stress
  • Promote deep relaxation
  • Promote well-being on physical, psychosocial and spiritual levels
