Welcome To

Monroeville Main Street

Monroeville Main Street is a nonprofit organization that seeks to stimulate downtown revitalization through organization (encouraging cooperation and building leadership in the business community); promotion (creating a positive image for downtown by promoting it as an exciting place to live, shop and invest); design (improving downtowns appearance); and economic vitality (receiving, administering and distributing funds supporting these purposes).

Organization, promotion, design, and economic restructuring are the four features of the National Trust for Historic Preservations Main Street Four-Point Approach, a proven model that has helped revitalize more than 2,000 communities, produced billions in investment, and created hundreds of thousands of jobs in the last 34 years.

The Monroeville Main Street program was established as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit corporation in 2014. Prior to its creation, the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, the Historic Preservation Committee, the Chamber of Commerce, the Tourism Board, and other groups worked independently to revitalize downtown. Now, Monroeville Main Street is the hub linking those groups and other partnerships together as part of a sustainable, cohesive, progressive plan. We are one of only 16 communities selected to participate in the statewide coordinating program Main Street Alabama.

Developing a Main Street Program allows us to become more organized and assertive in marketing our downtown. Our director, Anne Marie Bryan, supervises day-to-day operations, with guidance and input from an eleven-member Board of Directors. Monroeville Main Street provides many services, including business recruitment, financial incentive programs and an incremental, coordinated advertising and promotion program.

Our offices are located at the corner of Pineville Road and 86 North Alabama Avenue in the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce building on the Downtown Monroeville Square. We invite you to call us at 251.743.2879 or visit and learn more about partnering with us to revitalize our beautiful town.
