Conservation Easements

Generally, conservation easements are either sold or donated by a landowner to a qualified conservation organization and constitute a legally binding agreement that may limit or condition certain types of uses or activities from occurring on a property in perpetuity or prevent development from taking place on a property in perpetuity in order to fulfill the conservation purposes of the easement.
To promote the economic viability of agriculture and forestry, the protection of water quality, and the
conservation of working landscapes through strong local leadership and sustainable public-private partnerships.
