It’s BINGO TIME!!!  Come out every Wednesday from 8:30 am – 9:30 am for a fun-filled hour of BINGO with new and old friends to County Market in the Deli area.  The more the merrier.  We always have some laughs and lots of prizes to share. Sunday’s -- Come worship with us…trying to find a worship service to attend Sunday Afternoons?  Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn holds their worship service every Sunday at 2:30 pm in the Manor Dining Hall.  All are welcome. Monday and Friday’s:  Did you know Shelbyville Senior Citizens have a great program here in Shelbyville that provides hot meals Monday through Friday for those that need a little help cooking.  The meals are delivered to their home by volunteers through the Senior Center.  It’s a great option for people to have a daily hot meal and to have someone check on them once a day.  Shelbyville Manor & Hawthorne Inn volunteer on Mondays and Fridays…so watch for our car out and about around 11 am!  Give us a wave.  And if you know of anyone in need of this special service please call Marjorie Eversole at the Senior Center at 774-2251 for more information.

 Every Saturday @ 6 pm is Movie & Popcorn night at Shelbyville Manor and ALL are welcome to join us. On the third Wednesday of every month, Shelbyville Manor hosts BINGO in the Deli area the Shelbyville County Market from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.  This month the date is August 15th so bring your daubers and join us for some fun and fellowship.  The event is free to the public. October 1st: Welcome to Fall ya all!  As you all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness and Shelbyville Manor will be having a Balloon Release today at 1:30 pm to raise awareness in our community about the disease.  Everyone is welcome to either participate and or observe this event at the main entrance of the facility. October 4th: Community BINGO at Hawthorne Inn at 2 pm.  EVERYONE is welcome and our dietary department will be providing something YUMMY to snack on. October 6th:  Today at 10 am is the Annual Scarecrow Daze Parade and some staff, residents, and families from Shelbyville Manor will be participating so be on the lookout for the Shelbyville Manor bus, car, and the truck full of current CNA students.  We will be throwing out candy to ALL the local kiddo’s.October 8th: The residents of Shelbyville Manor will be taking a sightseeing trip to Williamsburg Hill at 9 am.  This area is the highest point in Shelby County and it is said that you are able to see several surrounding counties from atop the hill at the Ridge Cemetery. October 11th:  Calling all BINGO players…BINGO at the Findlay Community Center from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.  Meal served 11:30-12: 00 pm with a cost of $3.50/meal.  BINGO sponsored by Shelbyville Manor.October 11th:  The residents of Shelbyville Manor will enjoy one of the BEST things that the fall season has to offer – A Hay Ride which is scheduled for 2 pm today and should be fun for ALL!October 13th:  Annual Fall Festival in the Courtyard from 11 am to 2 pm – You don’t want to miss this event!  Bounce house & obstacle course for the kids, food, music, vendors, giveaways & more.  Best of ALL it’s FREE and open to EVERYONE!!! October 17th:  B.I.N.G.O. in the deli area at County Market in Shelbyville from 8:30 am to 9:30 am – bring your daubers and join us for some fun and fellowship.  This event is free to the public. October 18th:  The residents and some staff will be taking a special trip to the Arthur Pumpkin Patch at 2:15 pm; there are some of us that wait ALL year long, for this special event.  Did you know they have Pumpkin flavored soft serve Ice Cream – YES that is correct Pumpkin flavored soft serve Ice Cream! October 19th:  Bus Trip to Alton Belle in Alton, IL.  Buses will leave Hawthorne Inn at 8:30 am, please RSVP to Joni at 774-2111 by October 16.October 20th: It’s Saturday night which around here we call MOVIE & Popcorn night at the Manor and this week’s movie will be, what else CASPER at 6 pm!October 23rd:  It’s the monthly Birthday Party and we will be celebrating ALL of the October Birthday’s at 2:15 pm in the main dining room with cake, punch, entertainment, and other goodies!October 25th:  Senior Lunch and Learn in the Bounce Back wing at 12 pm.  Please RSVP to Joni at 774-2111 by October 23rd.October 26th:  At 9:30 am today the residents of Shelbyville Manor will begin the Halloween season by carving a pumpkin of their very own for display throughout the facility.October 31st: Today is the annual Costume Contest and Halloween Party at 2 pm followed by Trick or Treat at the facility by the local kiddo’s from the community from 6 pm to 8 pm.
