C.E.F.S. is a not for profit Community Action Agency incorporated in 1965 to help people achieve their full individual and economic potential. C.E.F.S. serves the Illinois counties of Christian, Clay, Effingham, Fayette, Montgomery, Moultrie, and Shelby.
We develop, implement, and evaluate social service programs to assist economically and socially disadvantaged people in their quest for greater self-sufficiency. Our programs are as diverse as the needs of the people in the communities we serve.
Community action changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community and are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
