Sickle Cell Anemia

Study of new drug to help in the prevention of Sickle Cell Crisis. Patients over the age of 18 who are experiencing some active sickle cell complication, taking controlled doses of narcotic pain medication will be randomized into a 4 arm study with 3 active drug arms compared to 1 placebo arm. Patient will be seen by Hematologist who will work with their primary Hematologist to see if new drug can decrease the number of sickle cell crises during the trial. Study will run for 12 weeks with a 1 month screening/run in period and be followed upon completion for 1 additional month. Patients will keep an E-Diary during the course of the study.
