Virginia Repertory Theatre
Audition queries and appointment requests should go to firstname.lastname@example.org otherwise indicated in the announcement.
Please see the Blog for details about our most recent youth auditions.
We post audition notices on our blog and in the Arts and Leisure section of the Sunday Richmond Times-Dispatch one week before auditions take place. Listings generally include the ages needed and whether you will be asked to dance or sing in addition to reading from the script.
You can subscribe to the RSS feed for youth audition blog posts here. New information regarding auditions is also emailed to our eNews auditions list, along with the weekly update about events and discounts. Sign Up for the eNews.
When appointments are required, spaces for youth auditions tend to fill up, so please request your appointment early.
Resume or Contact Information
If you have a resume, please bring that with you. It should include name, phone, email and street address. You can list any previous acting, dance or vocal experience, and any relevant classes. Previous experience or classes are not a requirement for being cast in a role, so don't worry if this only includes contact information.
Headshot or Other Photo
Professional headshots are welcome, but you don't have to have one to audition with Virginia Rep.
What to wear
Everyday clothes are fine. If the audition mentions that auditionees will be asked to move, wear comfortable clothing that allows for a range of motion.
