Humboldt Redwoods Interpretive Association
Humboldt Redwoods State Park has two group campgrounds that are perfect for park visitors who are planning to spend time camping with a group of family or friends. Developed family campsites can accommodate up to eight people per site whereas group sites have space for larger groups. Campers who need more than three family campsites for their group are strongly encouraged to reserve a group site.
Marin Garden Club Group Camp, in a grove of second-growth redwoods, will accommodate up to 40 people. It is conveniently located 2 miles north of the Visitor Center on the Avenue of the Giants, just north of Weott. The camp offers picnic tables, fire rings, an oversize barbeque grill, treated water, and restrooms. Campers are welcome to use the showers at Burlington. River access and a swimming hole are approximately one mile away. There is no river access from the campground. RVs and trailers are not allowed due to space limitations. Fees are $135.00 per night.
Williams Grove in Humboldt Redwoods State Park will be paved starting August 2018. As a result, no reservations will be available during paving.
Williams Grove Group Camp will accommodate up to 60 people in one group. There is space for up to 60 people. Site B is closed due to storm damage for 2016 storms. There is not a requirement for a minimum number of people, and both sites can be reserved by the same group. The campground is located in the redwoods along the South Fork of the Eel River, three miles south of the Visitor Center on the Avenue of the Giants. It offers picnic tables, fire rings, oversize barbeque grills, treated water, restrooms, and river access. Campers are welcome to use the showers at Burlington or Hidden Springs Campgrounds. Fees are $200.00 per night.
The group campground is open mid-May through late September. Site-specific reservations are available from just before Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Group sites are very popular, especially during holidays and the peak summer months of July and August. Early reservations ensure the best availability.
