MATERIALS TESTING

EMC Engineering provides a variety of materials testing services for many different clients. Providing these services are experienced engineers, engineering technicians, and construction inspectors.  EMC is certified by the American Concrete Institute, performs testing in accordance to the American Society of Testing Materials standards, and maintains a US Army Corps of Engineers validated laboratory.

The long-term success of any construction project is largely dependent upon the types of materials used during construction, which is why design professionals go to great lengths to specify the properties of the construction materials. From the development of testing plans prior to construction, to the development of test reports for distribution to a client and/or owner, materials testing services vary. Often times, construction specifications of a project not only dictate the properties of a material, but also require testing procedures with a set frequency. Materials are typically specified to be tested at one of two points in construction: either prior to their placement, or once they are in place. The purpose of Materials Testing Services at EMC is to provide the owner and contractors with the actual properties of these construction materials, so that they can ensure an ideal project outcome.

Pre-qualified with the Georgia Department of Transportation since 2001, EMC has provided materials testing services on numerous roadway projects. In addition to transportation and roadway projects, EMC has provided these services on drainage, land development, environmental, and marine projects.  Clients have included state and federal agencies, counties, municipalities, industries, contractors, architects, and private developers.
