Scattering at Sea

A Memorial service at sea – You will be met dockside and your private party will be escorted to the boat. You’ll sail approximately one mile from shore (more or less, depending on the family’s request) and will stop for the memorial. The captain will say a few words and ask if anyone would like to pay their respects. The ashes, having been placed in a basket covered with flower petals, will then be lowered into the water. As part of the ceremony, as the ashes dissipate, you may choose to toss favorite flowers into the water. The boat will then circle the area where the ashes have been placed and then head back for shore.
