Pediatric Acupuncture
Shonishin is a Japanese acupuncture system used for infants and children, from one month to often 10 years of age. Shonishin is a non-invasive, non-needle and painless procedure. Shonishin involves tapping and brushing along the meridians and applying light pressure to acupuncture points. Shonishin is practical, cost-effective and produces spectacular results in many common childhood diseases. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the treatment of their children, both in practice and for follow through at home. Diet and lifestyle recommendations are chosen for the child’s condition to assist in their healing, often decreasing the number of treatments needed. Shonishin can be used for health maintenance and support, or for the treatment of the following childhood disorders:

  • Acute ear infection
  • Asthma
  • Allergies
  • Bed Wetting
  • Chronic diarrhea or loose stools
  • Chronic ear problems
  • Chronic sinusitis
