The Giant's Roar, a history of the Badger Hill Placer Mine in Plumas County, CA. The Author, Scott J. Lawson, is the executive director of Plumas County Museum, in Quincy, California. He has written and published "Trails of the Feather River & Yuba River Region", "History of Quincy", and "Recollections of a '49er," and is currently working on a history of the Spanish Ranch area. He lives in Graeagle, California. This book features the history of an early hydraulic mine along Spanish Creek in the Spanish Ranch area west of Quincy. Starting in the early 1850s it developed into one of the richer mines of the region before shutting down in the early 1900s. Vintage and current photos, maps, bibliography and endnotes.
