The symbols on the front of the Plumas County Sequicentennial Coin represent the westward sun over the Sierra Nevada and attracted early-day emigrants to settle the Golden State of California. The obverse side of the coin represents the establishment of Plumas County. The pick and shovel for gold mining; and the U.S. flag to designate its part in the Union. This Sequicentennial souvenir coin was designed by Patrick D. Cook of Graeagle for the Plumas County Museum Association Inc. as a fundraiser and to commemorate Plumas County's 150th year as a California county. It comes sealed in a protective plastic casing that completely seals the coin and black storage box bearing the Plumas County emblem.
