Almanor Physical Therapy is an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy private practice that was started by Dr. Brown in 1999. The office is located on the grounds of the Seneca Healthcare District Hospital.
Dr. Brown has developed a preoperative educational program for patients that are preparing to have a knee joint replacement surgerg (total knee arthroplasy, or TKA) and is a service that is provided at no cost for patients referred by their physician and scheduled to have surgery. It includes consultation, detailed home exercise instructions and recommendations for home equipment used for optimizing rehabilitation results.
Steven Brown, DPT
Steven Brown received his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy at the University of the Pacific in 1992 and as an undergraduate, served as team captain and national competitor as a four year member of the Chico State Tournament Water Ski Team. He received Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Boston University on January 25, 2007. He is the founder and owner of Almanor PT.

The hospital opened the doors to patients in 1954. The Skilled Nursing Facility admitted the first patient in 1976. The hospital based rural health clinic was built in 1996. SHD received Critical Access Hospital designation in 2007. SHD is a non-profit governmental entity supported by tax dollars.
