The Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility at Seneca Hospital is a unique, 16 bed, care giving facility that offers your elderly loved ones that need around the clock care, a place to call home. The experienced nursing staff provide quality of care to the residents while maintaing their dignity and giving to them a home-like atmosphere. Social Services are available at Seneca for the Residents during their time of need and also on a regular basis.
The SNF unit boasts a vast dining/family room where the residents can enjoy their meals together, play games, listen to music or television, and have visitors all while under the caring watch of the staff. The residents also assist with maintaining a beautiful garden supervised by the Activities Director where they can help with watering and planting and enjoying their outdoor space. Activities for the residents are provided seven days per week.

Welcome to Seneca Healthcare District. Seneca Healthcare District was formed in 1947 as an independent special district to meet the needs of our rural community. The hospital opened the doors to patients in 1954. The Skilled Nursing Facility admitted the first patient in 1976. The hospital based rural health clinic was built in 1996. SHD received Critical Access Hospital designation in 2007. SHD is a non-profit governmental entity supported by tax dollars. The mission of SHD: to deliver high quality comprehensive services with excellence, compassion and competence, meeting or exceeding the expectations of the community we serve. Our staff and providers are dedicated to being the leaders in rural healthcare by providing safe and effective quality health and wellness care. The staff and providers strive to meet our mission statement daily. Our commitment to the community is to create an atmosphere that promotes wellness and healing. As CEO I have a passion and drive for rural healthcare, my career started as a certified nursing assistant many years ago. At SHD you will receive individualized care provided by our staff and providers who share in my enthusiasm for providing the community with rural healthcare.
