Shelby Electric Cooperative's (SEC) goals for net metering are to encourage member investment in renewable energy resources, comply with the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA), enhance Illinois' energy resources, and protect Illinois' environment through the use of renewable fuels. SEC will do so while honoring the commitment to provide electricity to all members on a cooperative basis, ensuring both the member and employee safety and overall system reliability.
